The contract and municipality set the required strength, curing, and inspection conditions for pedestrians, cars, buses, or heavy vehicles. Calendar time alone is not used when cold weather or high loads alter the requirement.

Measurement can be by square metre, linear metre, cubic metre, or individual unit depending on the item.
